Reports of unexplained attacks along the border have the Guild concerned about possible high raids by the Children for the Dark, and you and the crew of the EGS Stalwart are being sent to investigate.

We’ve just received an request for aid from the matriarch of Forest Mountain Kinship in the Ascent Archipelago - on the Loftian frontier. The dispatch claims that several settlements along the border have been destroyed over the last turn by, and I quote - “unidentified beasts” - that appear to be rampaging through the region. More realistically, there are a few accompanying reports of Children of the Dark marauders as well - likely raiding well above the border.
As you know, the Guild’s obligations to the Convocation demand we respond to such requests with with all due diligence and haste so I am sending the Stalwart to investigate. Your orders are to identify the source of the attacks and, should they be genuine, take the necessary steps to assure they cease. If, on the off chance this proves in fact to be some new Child threat, I do not have to remind you how critical your mission could become.
