Biohazard haven't even logged in here for about three months.

They tend to be busier on Twitter but I'm sure they'll pop over soon. Hopefully we'll have some sort of KS timetable announced at some point.

Jeff hasn't signed into this forum for a month. Does anyone know if he's okay? I know it's not as long as the previous period, but given the current situation with COVID-19, and the lack of response to a message on the Biohazard Facebook page, I thought I should check.

His Twitter is active, so yeah, he seems to be okay, all things considered. The man's got a few active projects plus a busy teacher's life, which surely is getting even crazier now, so it might be a while before we hear back. Then again, quite a lot of us will be going through a very different time in our lives over the next months, so I guess we'll see!

Cool, at least he's good. I totally get the busy teacher thing, what with being a teacher myself. My school closes after today, as with just over 100 cases here as of yesterday they've decided to stomp on things before they escalate as they have in other nations. Having seen what happened in Italy, I'm glad NZ reacted swiftly.

NZ seems to be one of those few places where politicians know what they're doing and can be trusted - at least that's my impression from what I see online from time to time. Good for you, man! I can tell you UK is dragging its feet - and will likely pay for it. Are you gonna be teaching online now for the next months or are you on furlough?

Yeah, there pretty much isn't a day that goes by that I'm not relieved I emigrated here (I'm originally from Plymouth, Devon). It completely changed my life and my family's life for the better.
We've got an emergency staff meeting in 20 minutes to sort out giving the kids' distance learning until the end of Friday, after which our end of term holiday is moved forward by two weeks anyway. I guess we then convene just before the fortnight-long holiday finishes to sort out any further distance learning. Some of my class were almost in tears yesterday because they didn't want to leave school.

I can only imagine how students must feel in times like this. For some young people these might be life-altering times. But I guess we won't be able to gauge this until much later in the future. Still, we all need to comply and do our bit to get over this thing as quick as possible.
Hope you and yours stay safe, mate!

I've made sure I'm available to the kids, sent out a structured daily timetable (as much to keep them occupied, fight boredom, and assist parents - plenty of activities and downtime/quiet relaxation stuff), sent encouraging e-mails and shared ideas twice daily, and even sent out photographs. It's important that they still feel a sense of belonging and community and have some distraction from the events around them. About half my class have been sending e-mails a few times a day, chattering about what they're doing and sharing photos.
Stay safe back on the other side of the mudball, mate.

I'm from Christchurch, Dorset.... so reasonably close to where you originally came from. (South Coast of England). And, yes, it's quiet. But then again, being virtually a house-bound recluse, apart from the effects of panic-buying, I'd not have noticed the difference... at least until my daughter returned from Uni early..and the wife's started working from home...

Hope you are all safe, guys. I'm leaving the forums as they are essentially dead and even Biohazard only visit them briefly a few times a year.
Best of luck, Colin
