Fellow mammals, Happy 1st of November to y'all. We got a short and sweet BP: Recontact KS update today, advertising as many as five chapter previews to be made shortly for backer review. Let's give them our best when they arrive! Other than that, I couldn't contain my excitement for the upcoming books, which is pretty much constantly the case, the result of which are four additional character illustrations. Meet the Red Sky Charters crew! These characters are used in the Player's Guide to explain and exemplify the rules, and they also star in one of the campaign archetypes in the books. Those of you lucky enough to have played Blue Planet on one of many conventions attended in the past by Biohazard Games probably remember these characters fondly. From left to right: Maggie, Drew, Fishboy and Dancer! [/url]

I'm looking forward to all the new chapters! I'm glad the editing process has been smoothed out.
Once again, huge props to Pawel for the generous contribution of art to the project. You're a star! (Starfish?)

And the first of the promised chapters have arrived. The latest KS update included cetacean technology and vehicles. It's nice to see some old friends there, and some updated parts. I especially like the artwork for the various jumpcraft.

I think it was sad that the most iconic character type of BP2 was described in the most hard-to-find supplement. I hope all of it is added to the core books of BP3; they can add as much cool tech they want but it is the cetes I would say that makes it Blue Planet.

And yep, there's so much Ancient Echoes that's being added to the Recontact core books. <3

I'm glad there's more on cete characters in Recontact. But I hope Jeff continues to present cetes as a bit more rounded. My main concern with Ancient Echoes was that it presented a very idealised view of cetaceans. I think they have great PR, but they're not as lovely and wonderful as some presentations suggest.

Good point and well said, Neil! They certainly have great PR. I think as a community, and in the socio-political context, cetes tend to score better than humanity - because, in all honesty, humanity sets the bar rather low. But yeah, when zoomed down to individuals, cetes can often be out of touch jerks or even "inhumane" scary monsters.
