Ha, Allie, what a superb character you've just written down! I love her!! <3 Beautiful work. There's something universally adorable about belugas, but you've given your girl such a wonderful, quirky spirit! Well done.

One of the unfortunate quirks of Blue Planet is that, because of how its chargen options were released and how little original content has been made for it, there are entire species that've never had a published character before, and I really wanted her to be something like a Pathfinder iconic: not necessarily a stereotypical beluga but sort of their public face, someone you can play without having to track down a copy of Ancient Echoes.Coming up with all her names was by far one of the most fun parts; I should do that with other cetes when I get around to writing them up.

Ha, that relay race of cete names was sweet! Squidcounter! XD I believe a nice big chunk of Ancient Echoes is gonna be part of Player's / Moderator's Guide Recontact.

Taxonomist was what she wanted to do when she majored in marine biology (giving new names to the creatures of the sea); Squidcounter was what she was doing as a marine biologist. It may or may not say something about her psychological state at that point, depending on how you interpret her.
Boat/bumper was my favorite, I got a lot of 🥺 emojis in response to that one.

Also remind me to write up Livyatanism at some point; Blue Planet predates the discovery of L. melvillei but I feel like the whale named Leviathan that fought the megalodons could be a very interesting figure in cete mythic history.

Oh yeah, that would be a pretty cool annal of the Whalesong! It has a lot of potential! But yeah, Leviathan figures in human myth too, and tl;dr Liaison's occult subculture is a syncretistic one where the Grandfather of Sperm Whales Who Fought The Megalodons is also the primordial sea monster killed in the creation of the world. Like I said in the tag, it's esoteric and pretty weird.

Really cool writeup! I like that Liaison changed her name so many times. It makes me think how often cetes generally change names as they go through life. It's a bit unusual for Europeans, but more common in Asian cultures, I think, where people are referred differently in different contexts.
The skillset "Echolocation > Esoteric Whalesong > Diving" is an odd one. I think it's an example where what's in the player's mind means all these parts fit together, but I had to read the description a couple of times before it made sense to me. I think that's great, using the flexibility of the system to showcase character.
One question. Where's the HISTOS station? From context, I assume it's somewhere polar.

HISTOS is currently based out of Dyfed. The GEO's polar base is somewhere around Nuliajuk.

Really cool writeup! I like that Liaison changed her name so many times. It makes me think how often cetes generally change names as they go through life. I've been writing my pregen cetes like that because it's a neat intro to how whales think of themselves. It is a kinda weird one, because it riffs on the psychology of diving and that's only really spelled out in Ancient Echoes. I patterned it as a counterpoint to Dancer, whose study of the Whalesong grew into leadership and community roles as a vision/singer; Liaison's followed her Whalesong background away from that into physical and symbolic danger, depth, and darkness via mind-altering physical ordeal. In hindsight the comparison really isn't a clear one.
