Good afternoon,
I know the plan is to share the demo document after GenCon but I'm impatient.
I notice on the sample character sheet that there are three tracks. How are they chosen and filled in? How do they get affected in play? What are the implications of moving up and down those tracks?
I ask because they look as though they might be really powerful tools for roleplaying and the implications of actions.

Tracks are created by GMs for specific campaign intentions and/or by players for specific character concepts. In-game events can shift them up or down - GM fiat, failed tests, narrative success or trauma, etc. Each level provides a bonus or minus to relevant tests depending upon the circumstances. For example, being "scared" might mean a -1 to combat tests, but a +1 to fleeing trouble.
As you guessed, their intention is exactly to drive roleplaying, providing moderators and players with hooks and boundaries for the characters.

Pardon my videogame slang: are we talking about personalised (and fuelled by narrative circumstances) resource status bars?
Like, in the oldie but goodie Werewolf the Apocalypse all garou characters have Rage, Gnosis, Willpower tracks or all mages in Mage the Ascension have Arete and Quintessence and Willpower and whatnot? Not to mention vampires from the same stable and their Blood Pool?
Am I understanding it correctly that players come up with their characters, GMs come up with their campaigns - and somewhere in between of these two sources of the narrative these tracks are custom made?

I don't know about "resource status bars, " but your last sentence is pretty close. They are role playing drivers custom built for the kinds of campaigns and characters a group wants to play. We suggest a bunch in the text but encourage customization.

Fantastic!! <3 <3 Ahhh, it's gonna be a long wait for that Kickstarter! But we can hopefully all lay hands on the quickstart primer soon.
