Once you manage to establish tools of communication, even basic ones, you can start chatting about... weather? Krill? Noisy metal bellies skimming the sea surface?

You always complain about the noisy neighbours that plays the music too loud!
Do you get the same impression as I that they used AI to summarise the paper and then used as the article? "As discussed above" under "More about Whale-SETI" was my hint.

Yeah, you might be right! :/ I dread the days when AI will start getting the fingers right in art - but AI in text is even easier to obfuscate. :/
