Just and idea, but it would be fun to give an in-game reason for the changes. Like agoriginies were original used by a team of Australian scientists, but the everywhere else it is Nereids, etc.

I quite like how one of the VI models mentioned in the Quickstart is called a Bodycomp. It would be nice to get a bit of an Easter egg with the old names here and there.

Hi there. Sorry for necroing an old thread, but I'm just starting to dig into v3 and this one piqued my interest: I like the idea of different groups using different terms, or other ways to keep the connection to v2. Natives could use the term Aborygines, while the new, colonial/GEO name would be Nereids; for Kingston/Harmony I think I'll take a different approach - NGC will be a different group than NRM - maybe a splinter faction, maybe a competitor? - that wrestled the control over Kingston from the NRM, and renamed it. The struggle between those two - plus any Incorporate or GEO moves to exploit the situation - should generate any number of story hooks. What do you think?

I think it's an awesome idea, mate. NGC/NRM is a massive hodgepodge of people who really don't enjoy being governed, so splinter groups and competitors are a must. I don't imagine there will be any canon mention of NRM in the Recontact line, but that shouldn't stop anyone from honouring the legacy name. Besides, it's gonna take some time before the new lineup matches or tops the v2 book quantity, so in the foreseeable future we'll all be relying on awesome books like Frontier Justice, at least to some degree.
